Welcome!

As one journey turns into another, I welcome you to join me as I embark on a new path. I will be posting regularly so check back often.

Teresa's last day at Environment Canada (Nov. 16, 2006)

Hello my friends,

Some of you may know that I travelled to Australia & New Zealand during my year long leave of absence that ended about 16 months ago, an experience I found to be quite transformative and rewarding in a countless ways. It is with great excitement that I saying "farewell" … "so long for now" as I get set to embark on my plans to move on from my position as a Project Officer with Environment Canada by mid-November so that I can head back down to Australia to embark on a new set of adventures … away from an office environment and connecting with people and natural spaces in a really big way.

I have accepted an Internship position I've been offered with Outward Bound Australia (I am one of the two successful overseas internship applicants). I will embark on this exciting and challenging new opportunity beginning in January of the new year, after I head "Down Unda" in December to reconnect with many of the friends I made during the month long deep ecology workshop of Dr. Joanna Macy's file://www.joannamacy.net/ that I participated in down in SW Australia.

If you haven't heard of Outward Bound before, and even if you have, you might be interested in reading about the organization and the kind of activities that I will be immersing herself in through the Outward Bound website at: http://www.outwardbound.net/locations/australia.html

Working with people such as yourself and the organizations and causes you are connected to has been THE highlight of my career with Environment Canada. I am deeply grateful for all that I have learned from you and the projects/activities we worked on together and for all that you shared with me along the way. It's also been great to be part of this big Environment Canada clan, to work with and learn from all the dedicated folks that I have connected with over the past 8 years (almost 8).

My last day in the office here with Environment Canada will be Thursday, is TODAY, November 16, 2006. In my absence and until a new Project Officer is hired, please contact Ollie Mogdan (780) 951-8710 or 1-800-567-1570 (toll free) for whatever assistance you may need pertaining to Community Programs (EcoAction, Environmental Damages Fund, Alberta Rural Team, etc.). On the Education & Engagement side of things please connect with Vicki Asu at the toll free number I just shared.

Keep up the very excellent work that you are doing on behalf of our amazing planet. Your most excellent efforts in helping your community (& Environment Canada) create a healthy environment are greatly needed and the determination, strength, creativity, resourcefulness, are inspiring and much appreciated. I wish you well as you continue to strive to increase ecoliteracy, ecosystem health, and community-building values, and all your other efforts that bring these issues to the forefront.

It has been a privilege to work with you and I look forward to keeping in touch with any of you who wish to stay connected through the web log that I have set up. You can keep in touch with me through my personal e-mail address: sherpadoginoz@care2.com ("sherpa dog in oz")/or at the BLOG that my wonder-full friends have helped me to set up at: http://sherpadoginoz.blogspot.com/

Be good to yourselves as you continue to do the important work you are doing and enjoy the times you share with those in your circles of friends, family, and the abundance of this beautiful planet we call home :) I wish all of you much "hotto suru" (Japanese for "to relax because you have taken a deep breath"). I also look forward to an abundance of "hotto suru" in my life as I travel these new paths I am moving along on :)

Be well,

Teresa
