Teresa's ASSIST with Taz (American Field Service) ... the course was GREAT!!

Syndey Harbour Bridge & the Opera House (June 29, 2007)

... saw them during my 4 hours in Sydney between bus & train trips

HI Everyone,

I had a chance to post a QUICK update while I was in Lismore today, tapping into some free wireless from the nearby cafe ... & here it is ...

The course I just finished (my ASSIST) with the American Field Service went really well.

Tess enjoying the gorgeous sunset at Bells Bay

The kids were great, 16 to almost 19 years of age, very well behaved, keen, respectful, and fun! I even had a young man who is going to Harvard this year, he got 2380 on his SAT, the top score is apparetnly 2400! He was a funy, yet quirky young man who asked interesting questions & was a treat to have on course, along with the 11 other participants from Alaska, Wshington state, California, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Michigan, & New York City.

I went out with an instructor who goes by Whiskey (the phonetic for his last name) but we told the kids our names were Tess (me) & Taz (Whiskey is from Tasmania). They went with it but figured those weren't our real names & we told them our names on the last night ... they figured they liked Tess better than Teresa, how funny!

I will add more to this update when I am back in Lismore on Friday for my podiatrist appointment.

Hugs 'n' Bugs, love,

Teresa

Hi Teresa,

Glad to read that the sore paws are getting reasonably better and nothing related to nerve damage per se. We've returned from South Africa and Aidan just underwent an adenoidectomy today. He did fine, but his behaviour is so erratic these days - lots of tantrums. Much patience and learning. Anyway, my dear, just wanted to say hello and know we are thinking about you - sorry to have missed you call so many days before. Will try and connect on e-mail, but I am due to head to Summer Festival next week so will be off e-mail and telephone for a couple of weeks. Gleb and Aidan will be here of course.

Much love to you my dear. Take care and thanks for staying in touch...Love, Cheryl

Teresa what a pleasant surprise your phone call was this morning. Happy to hear you sounding upbeat again and enjoying things. Take care of yourself and lots of love and hugs coming from all of us here.
